Dust is our friend
If there's so much dust that you can't see your hand in front of your face, you're probably in our dust chamber. We're interested in dust. It's stubborn, gets everywhere and likes to cause trouble with mechanical and electrical devices alike. That's why we built a dust chamber. We first generate an airtight dusty atmosphere by cutting stone with one of our cut-off machines. Then we fire up a range of other machines and leave them to suck up the dust-filled air...

Dust gives our tools a longer life
After a while, we turn off the tools and take a close look inside and at the air filters. We can then work out how to refine these filters to stop dust getting into the engine - critical since optimal engine performance depends on clean, particle-free air. We learn more about wear to components, cylinders and pistons too, which helps us improve filter life and extend tool life spans – so the STIHL in your hands will perform beautifully for even longer.
