MS 180

The powerful and lightweight STIHL MS 180 petrol chainsaw impresses when working in the private sector, especially when cutting firewood, as well as in workshops. Thanks to its low weight of 4.1 kg, the petrol chainsaw is manoeuvrable and easier to work with for longer periods. If you work with a 35 cm bar, you will also be able to saw thicker branches. This model will ensure you are well equipped for work in your home garden. To help you work as effectively as possible, we have equipped this petrol-driven chainsaw with proven technology.

To protect muscles and joints, the STIHL anti-vibration system reduces vibrations from the engine and the tool itself at the grip points.

    STIHL ANTI-VIBRATION SYSTEM

    FOR MORE PLEASANT WORK. Vibrations can occur when you put your power tools through their paces, and these are particularly noticeable in the grip area. The buffer and spring elements of the STIHL anti-vibration system reduce the transmission of engine vibrations to the handle area and therefore to your body. The result is that your power tool is more comfortable to hold and your work is much less tiring.

  • COMPENSATOR Zoom
    COMPENSATOR

    REDUCED MAINTENANCE. The compensator is a control system in the carburettor, which uses pressure compensation to ensure that engine performance, exhaust gas quality and fuel consumption remain virtually constant over a long period of time, despite increasing contamination of the air filter. You do not need to clean the air filter until there is a noticeable drop in performance. This means that you can work for a long time without maintenance.

    STIHL ElastoStart

    Due to compression pressure, jerky stresses occur when starting internal combustion engines. The damping element in the ElastoStart special starter grip alternately absorbs and releases force according to the compression pattern. The result is smooth, even starting.

    All important functions such as start, choke, throttle and stop are operated via a single lever.

    SIDE-MOUNTED CHAIN TENSIONING

    FOR SIMPLE AND SECURE RE-TENSIONING. Side-mounted chain tensioning allows for protected, easy and quick chain tensioning and replacement. The tensioning screw is inserted laterally through the sprocket cover.

  • STIHL QUICK CHAIN TENSIONING Zoom
    STIHL QUICK CHAIN TENSIONING

    RE-TENSION THE SAW CHAIN TOOL-FREE. Thanks to STIHL Quick Chain Tensioning, you can tension your saw chain quickly and without tools, thanks to the adjusting wheel. Turning the adjusting wheel to the left releases tension on the saw chain, and turning the adjustment wheel to the right tensions the saw chain. The guide bar will be automatically secured when you tighten the sprocket cover.
