An easy start

Thanks to electronic cold/warm start recognition there is now only one start position on the combi-lever. M-Tronic electronically calculates the exact amount of fuel needed and you can starte it up with fewer pulls of the cord and without switching the lever. (▲). It immediately accelerates up to speed – for strength-saving, faster work.

No manual carburettor adjustments

M-Tronic electronically adjusts the amount of fuel in the carburettor: whatever the operating status - whether starting, idling, partial or full-load operation. And it always takes account of external conditions, saving you time and energy.

Optimal engine performance at all times

The control unit uses engine temperature and speed to continually monitor each operating status of your chainsaw, feeding in the correct amount of fuel so that you always benefit from optimal engine performance.

Superb acceleration

With the STIHL MS 362 C-M, electronic ignition timing management and fuel metering ensure fast and responsive acceleration – even from a cold start.

Memory function

M-Tronic remembers your previous settings indefinitely and restores them when you restart the chainsaw. So when external conditions are the same, full engine performance is immediately at your disposal every time you start.

M-Tronic technology

The cornerstone of M-Tronic technology is its control unit featuring a microprocessor, electronic temperature recognition and ignition system. The microprocessor represents the “brains" of M-Tronic. All relevant information on the status of the machine feeds into this. The result: an electronically precise supply of fuel – taking operating status and external conditions into account – means you will always benefit from optimal engine performance. It also saves you time and energy since you no longer have to worry about manual carburettor adjustments.

Combi-lever with stop button function

Thanks to M-Tronic's ability to electronically distinguish between a cold or warm start, there only needs to be one start position on the combi-lever. The exact amount of fuel is provided as needed. There's no need for you to be aware of your chainsaw's operating status, so you can power up to full speed straight away – even from a cold start. After the saw is turned off, the control lever immediately moves back into the operating position. This means the warm machine can be restarted immediately any time.

Control unit

As the nerve centre of M-Tronic, the control unit consists of a microprocessor with a rev counter and temperature gauge. It calculates the ignition timing and amount of fuel needed by taking into account outside temperature, elevation and fuel quality. The integrated memory function even remembers your previous settings, so when external conditions are the same, full engine performance is immediately at your disposal every time you start.

Micro-switch

The micro-switch registers the position of the choke and, in conjunction with electronic temperature recognition, ensures excellent starting performance.

Solenoid valve

The electronic solenoid valve takes just milliseconds to feed the correct amount of fuel into the engine as calculated by the control unit. Manual carburettor adjustments using adjustment screws are a thing of the past.

Fan propeller

A second pair of poles are built into the fan propeller and supply the control unit with electricity. This means the fan propeller not only provides cooling for the engine when you start up your chainsaw, it also generates its own energy supply to power M-Tronic.
